“Bow to your partner…bow to your corner…hands all around.”
So began most square dances called by the legendary Chris Sanderson. In his heyday, until he passed away in 1966, Chris and his famed Pocopson Valley Boys were well known throughout the area for calling and playing for square dances. Chris even made a record album of square dance music complete with calls and instructions.
If you love to square dance, here is your chance to relive those glorious days of yesteryear. The venue is a 1700s barn at Thornbury Farm, in the the heart of the Brandywine Battlefield, where Chris Sanderson himself once called dances.
