On March 4, 2017, the Christian C. Sanderson Museum re-opens, launching its 49th year of operation. First opened in August 1968, the museum honors the life and times of Christian Carmack Sanderson (1884-1966).

Chris was an iconic character who was widely known for his many and unusually varied interests, one of which was his deep interest in American history.  From an early age, he was an inveterate and irrepressible collector of historical relics, artifacts, and memorabilia. The Sanderson Museum preserves Chris’s collection and defines and celebrates his singular vision of the American experience.
