Photo Portals into the Past: An Evening at the Christian Sanderson Museum

Place: The Christian C. Sanderson Museum

Date: Sunday, October 9, 2022

Time: 7:30pm to 9:00pm

Cost: $10 person / Free for our Sanderson Museum Members.

The September 25th date has been postponed until Sunday, October 9th.  Same time.

This event will feature large scale projection installations of photographs and artwork related to the life of Christian C. Sanderson. These installations are part of an on-going initiative by artists Michael Lynch and Matt Nelson entitled Projected in Place – a historical research and conceptual art project that superimposes photographs and paintings to life-scale, onto the original locations depicted in the images. When viewing the projection installation from the correct angle, the image can often have a three-dimensional or holographic effect, which may feel as though the viewer is looking into a window, or “portal” into the past.

This event will be free to all Sanderson Museum members, but the public is welcome  with an admission to this event will be a $10 donation to the Sanderson Museum, which will also include a limited print of the event’s promotional poster.  Soft beverages will be available during the event.  Tours of the museum will also take place after the Photo Portals presentation.

This will be an outdoor event, weather permitting. Parking will be available in the Brandywine Prime parking lot in the rear of the Sanderson museum.

Please use the PayPal link below to get your tickets or, if you have a Sanderson Museum member, please email info@sandersonmuseum.org to let them know you will be coming and how many will be in your party.  Remember this event will be free to all Sanderson Museum members only.  Note that our rain date is Sunday, October 9th, same time.
